CASTROL RADICOOL CONCENTRATE (3424673) 1L EA
Description
Castrol Radicool (1L) is an engine coolant concentrate for year-round use in both petrol and diesel vehicles with aluminium or cast iron engines. This coolant can be diluted to 33 vol% concentration with purified water to give freeze protection down to -18°C, or at a 50 vol% dilution to provide freeze protection down to -36°C if required. To maintain optimum performance this product should be drained and replaced after 2 years.
APPLICATION
Castrol Radicool is compatible with all materials normally used in automotive cooling systems including hoses, gaskets, seals, plastics and all metal components.
It may be used in a variety of vehicles including passenger cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles. In the majority of cases, coolants are not compatible and should not be mixed with other coolants unless directed by the equipment manufacturer. If using Castrol Radicool for the first time, ensure that the cooling system has been adequately flushed with clean water before use.
When top up of the cooling system is necessary, add only Castrol Radicool concentrate mixed with demineralised water at the recommended concentration. For improved anti-boil and freeze protection, dilute Radicool concentrate at 50 vol%.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
- Castrol Radicool is a mixture of monoethylene glycol and selected chemical inhibitors. It contains no nitrites, phosphates or amines.
- Castrol Radicool provides :
- Effective engine cooling without boiling
- Protection against corrosion of the alloys used in the cooling system of modern vehicles
- Compatibility with conventional seal and hose materials used in engine cooling systems
- Protection against cavitation corrosion
- Efficient lubrication of water pumps
- Contains bittering agent
- Castrol Radicool contains no phosphates, therefore the potential problems of deposit formation with hard water in some modern engines are reduced.
SPECIFICATIONS
- ASTM D3306 (I) Engine coolant concentrate (“antifreeze”) conforms to the requirements of BS 6580:2010
